What couples are saying about Bais Chana's retreats ... Originally, I heard about it from the website, but I’ve been attending Bais Chana programs for about four and half years now. I wanted to learn more about Jewish philosophy and to improve our Jewish marriage. I really enjoyed Rabbi Friedman’s and Rivkah Slonim’s classes (although their classes seemed to run either behind schedule or overtime). My husband and I have gained so much in understanding each other and our marriage, and each time we attend, we learn more and improve in our observance. This year I’m taking home the confidence that we’re on the right path and will continue on the right path. My husband and I look forward to Bais Chana ever year! This year we loved the Mariner’s Club location. Connie, Kendall, FL – Couples Retreat 2009, Key Largo, Florida ....................................................................................................... I really gained from Rabbi Friedman’s classes in which he discussed the role of a husband and the role of a wife. I had hoped to strengthen my relationship with my wife and it was awesome – I will work on my marriage and make it better. I’ve already sent emails for friends to join classes during the week… Michael - Couples Retreat 2009, Key Largo, Florida ....................................................................................................... I had a chance to settle down in one peaceful place without distractions, to focus on learning and growth – with reinforcement from special teachers, a special environment, and the special people running the program. The topics were superb and so well presented, and Rabbi Friedman and Rivky Slonim are both top-notch teachers, who totally give of themselves. My favorite part of the program was the classes and the opportunity to absorb material intellectually and emotionally was spectacular. I plan to practice – to focus on the learned topics and to make them REAL. I really didn’t expect such a quality group of wonderful people to share this with and I would have liked more time to interact with other participants – there didn’t seem to be enough time in the schedule to do that. It was a marvelous couple’s getaway to get in touch with G-d, with yourself, and with your spouse. Steve - Couples Retreat 2009, Key Largo, Florida ....................................................................................................... I came looking for perspective and clarity regarding personal issues. The atmosphere was relaxing and non-judgmental, and the lectures were deep and thought-provoking. I learned some important and profound concepts for us to grow from… A - Couples Retreat 2009, Key Largo, Florida ....................................................................................................... My favorite part of the program was being away with my wife in a relaxed atmosphere without distractions where we could discuss what was on our minds. I especially enjoyed the classes on “giver and receiver” and humility. Now I understand more of my wife’s wants and needs. A very worthwhile experience! Mendel - Couples Retreat 2009, Key Largo, Florida I came for inspiration, harmony and direction. The marital stuff was more grounded in Torah than last year – and that was good. One of the ideas that really struck me was that spirituality and G-dliness are not the same – not feeling groovy is not a sign of not being G-dly. P - Couples Retreat 2009, Key Largo, Florida ....................................................................................................... We came to bask in the beauty of Chassidus and have a nice vacation. The Chassidus classes were terrific, and it was in a lovely location. I gained friends, an appreciation for learning, more patience, and faith. The presenters were extremely approachable. Keep it going – it was all great! Reuven - Couples Retreat 2009, Key Largo, Florida I came to recharge my batteries and I’m going home recharged! It was just awesome. My favorite part of the program was Rabbi Friedman’s Tanya classes, especially learning the difference between sadness, despair and regret; and understanding the importance of the words of the prayers. I hope to continue learning when I go home… Brian - Couples Retreat 2009, Key Largo, Florida ....................................................................................................... Bais Chana was both an inspiring and profound experience on the two occasions I attended. An intense time in terms of learning and personal growth and certainly some big steps taken when I returned home. It was a warm environment where no one was judged and you could pick and choose what you wanted to learn or be involved with. For me, I needed that and I'm sure that's what made me take things seriously. The brilliance and animation of Rabbi Manis Friedman was to put it mildly, awe-inspiring -- my husband and I, six months after learning with him, still frequently refer to his teachings. Thank you to everyone at Bais Chana! Atalia, Summer 2000, London, England ....................................................................................................... My wife and I had the pleasure and honor of spending a week with one of the great philosophers, teachers and spiritual leaders of our time…We concluded the week with a far deeper appreciation and understanding of many areas of Torah study we formerly felt were out of reach. We highly recommend for anyone interested in increasing their appreciation and knowledge of a very broad range of Jewish topics and to be able to apply these lofty concepts to all areas of everyday life to spend a most enjoyable and uplifting week with Rabbi Manis Friedman. Moshe, Chicago, IL ....................................................................................................... It was a mind, body and soul workout, after which we felt rejuvenated and recharged. Mila and Alan, Minneapolis, MN ....................................................................................................... Fantastic! Rabbi Friedman and company’s insights into marriage and parenting have permanently enriched my family. I’ll be back! Nancy King, New Jersey ....................................................................................................... When I looked at the flyer the first thing that grabbed me was the title, “Match Made In Heaven.” Then there was the location, an inn on a lake in Minnesota the beginning of the summer. And finally I was impressed to learn that the director for this week-long Bais Chana program for couples would be Rabbi Manis Friedman. It sounded too idyllic to pass up: fresh air, beautiful country and the presence of a man reputed to be an extraordinary teacher. What did I ultimately experience in those seven days? I reconnected with my husband, with my heritage and most of all, with myself. It was a tune-up for the soul. And what about my husband who had been reluctant to go on a trip that didn’t include museums and other cultural diversions? By week’s end he was enthusiastically proclaiming this the “best vacation” he every had. Helen Schwimmer, Brooklyn, NY ....................................................................................................... Leah, London Winter 2007 – Key Largo, FL The program is really well-rounded and appeals to all levels – I brought my parents to spend time with my kids and they loved the retreat. It was a great way to learn and to recharge. ...................................... Yosef, Ottowa Winter 2007 – Key Largo, FL This is a wonderful gift for grandparents to give to their newly married grandchildren. The three most important things I learned over the weekend are respect, respect and respect. .................................... Amy, Miami Beach Winter 2007 – Key Largo, FL The food was really good, plentiful and healthy. The hotel was stunning and really comfortable. I liked how people kept coming over to us, introducing themselves… everyone was so open. |
