Jewish Studies Retreat for Women
Twin Cities, MN
July 21-August 4, 2013
Are you looking for a Jewish milieu that’s intellectually challenging and open? Do you enjoy Jewish teachings and traditions, and want to learn their deeper meaning? Do you need some time away for yourself to gain perspective and insight, and get some clear-headed guidance?
This summer take time to focus on what’s really important to you. Get away for as long as you can – from a few days to two weeks – to attend a remarkable retreat for Jewish women called Bais Chana. This summer’s retreat runs July 21-August 4, 2013, in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. Benefit from brilliant teachers; subject matter that's relevant, thought-provoking and inspirational; the stimulating company of Jewish women from around the world and across the Jewish spectrum; and a personalized tutorial program. If you enjoy the outdoors, go hiking on a path through the woods, take in an afternoon of boating or biking, or check out Mall of America. The opportunities are close by and plentiful.
The Twin Cities retreat is for Jewish women of all ages and backgrounds. There are no prerequisites to attend and the two-week format means you have plenty of flexibility planning your time away. On the Agenda
Find out what Chassidus says about the human psyche, life’s loves and fears, the role of mind and heart, body and soul, male and female; how to define faith, happiness, love and intimacy; how to deal with anger, grief and disappointment; how to develop a healthy self-concept, understand Divine service, and become a better person and a better partner.
The daily schedule includes classes, workshops, tutorials and prayer. Classes reference Torah, Chassidic teachings, Kabbala, prophets, daily prayers, Jewish law, Mishnah, Midrash, Maimonides and more, all with English translation. Use the tutorial (“chevrusa”) program to learn how to read Hebrew, keep kosher, observe Shabbat or pray; tackle classic Biblical texts with the commentaries; or as a Q&A period.
