On the Agenda
Find out what Chassidus says about the human psyche, life’s loves and fears, the role of mind and heart, body and soul, male and female; how to define faith, happiness, love and intimacy; how to deal with anger, grief and disappointment; how to develop a healthy self-concept, understand Divine service, and become a better person and a better partner.
The daily schedule includes classes, workshops, tutorials and prayer. Classes reference Torah, Chassidic teachings, Kabbala, prophets, daily prayers, Jewish law, Mishnah, Midrash, Maimonides and more, all with English translation. Use the tutorial (“chevrusa”) program to learn how to read Hebrew, keep kosher, observe Shabbat or pray; tackle classic Biblical texts with the commentaries; or as a Q&A period.
Featured Educators
Rabbi Manis Friedman, Bais Chana’s primary lecturer, is a gifted educator – an internationally acclaimed lecturer, social philosopher, author and counselor. Friedman’s compelling worldview comes from Torah, Kabbala and Chassidut, and with his trademark wit and wisdom, he’ll challenge our assumptions about Judaism, spirituality and G-d. With over thirty-five years in the classroom and on the lecture floor, a profound knowledge of the soul and psyche, and a crystal clear perspective on life today, Friedman is one of the most riveting teachers you’ll have the pleasure to study with.
Sara Kaplan has been teaching for over thirty years, helping women rediscover their heritage and guiding many of her students as they build their own homes. She gives classes on an array of topics, from the Bible and Psalms to Chassidic perspectives on marriage and parenting. Kaplan is humorous and approachable, and known for quickly developing a rapport with her listeners. She is the grateful mother of nine children, who, she claims, have been her major teachers, and have, thank G-d, blessed her with many grandchildren. Sara Kaplan and her late husband Rabbi Leible Kaplan, A"H, were sent by the Lubavitcher Rebbe to Tzfat in Eretz Yisroel thirty seven years ago.
Leah Abraham has been teaching women and girls for nearly ten years and is widely known as a gifted and dedicated educator. Abraham has traveled around the world and across the US teaching topics such as self-improvement, contemporary Jewish ethics, strengthening relationships through Torah, and mystical concepts associated with the Jewish calendar. Her dynamic delivery, genuine warmth and passion for connecting people with Chassidic teachings make her an inspiring and motivational speaker.
