This question was asked during a live online class at an Un-Camp weekend for teen girls, Thanksgiving, 2008 in Morristown, NJ.

I heard that even if you are a little obsessed with yourself you should not get married, but wait until you are selfless. But what if your background will contribute to a lifetime of selfishness? How do you break the cycle so that you can get married?
